LK Advani to be conferred with Bharat Ratna

Prime Minister Narendra Modi revealed today, via a post on X (formerly Twitter), that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader LK Advani is set to receive the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award.

This recognition comes after an extensive parliamentary career spanning nearly three decades, during which Mr. Advani served as the Home Minister and subsequently as the Deputy Prime Minister in the cabinet of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee from 1999 to 2004.
